Una Gran Avenida (UGA)

Empowering Neighborhood Commerce with a Scalable Directory

As a Chilean creator, partnering with Una Gran Avenida (UGA) was a personally significant project. What I love about UGA is its purpose: it empowers small businesses to thrive in a world dominated by large monopolies. Being part of that vision—to give local shops in Santiago a strong digital presence—felt deeply meaningful.

Founder Mauricio and I connected over this goal of strengthening neighborhood economies. We began with a strategy workshop to define the brand’s core purpose, which directly informed the visual identity. The UX/UI design was then crafted to be as intuitive as possible, drawing subtle inspiration from the nostalgic “Páginas Amarillas” but with a clean, contemporary feel.

On the technical side, I engineered a scalable backend architecture for the directory. This ensures UGA can grow, effortlessly adding new neighborhoods and business categories. This project was a powerful reminder that design and technology can be genuine tools for community building, creating a dynamic platform where residents can find and support the local businesses that give their barrio its unique character.
