Una Gran Avenida (UGA)

Empowering Neighborhood Commerce with a Scalable Directory

As a Chilean creator, partnering with Una Gran Avenida (UGA) was a personally significant project. What I love about UGA is its purpose: it empowers small businesses to thrive in a world dominated by large monopolies. Being part of that vision—to give local shops in Santiago a strong digital presence—felt deeply meaningful.

Founder Mauricio and I connected over this goal of strengthening neighborhood economies. We began with a strategy workshop to define the brand’s core purpose, which directly informed the visual identity. The UX/UI design was then crafted to be as intuitive as possible, drawing subtle inspiration from the nostalgic “Páginas Amarillas” but with a clean, contemporary feel.

On the technical side, I engineered a scalable backend architecture for the directory. This ensures UGA can grow, effortlessly adding new neighborhoods and business categories. This project was a powerful reminder that design and technology can be genuine tools for community building, creating a dynamic platform where residents can find and support the local businesses that give their barrio its unique character.

"Working with Javier has been a truly rewarding experience. From day one, he has contributed with responsibility, commitment, and a genuinely collaborative attitude to this project, which aims to bring together different business sectors into a single online directory in Chile.

His professionalism is evident in every detail, but what stands out the most is his warmth and the passion with which he shares his knowledge. In a country where entrepreneurship continues to grow and seeks to become more formalized, having people like Javier makes a real difference.

We look forward to continuing to learn and work alongside him in the future. His personal brand perfectly reflects who he is: a kind, professional, and deeply dedicated person in everything he does."
